What can we trust?

We have all become very familiar over recent years with "lies, damned lies and statistics". Anyone who listens to the wonderful programme on Radio 4, More or Less, will have become aware of all the pitfalls AND all the ways figures can be deliberately massaged to get the results required.

So one of the things that Waltham Forest Streets for All tries to do is analyse all the claims about road closures, pollution, car use and so on.

A key proponent of road closures, and ex trustee of the London Cycling Campaign, Rachel Aldred is the darling of Mini-Holland supporters. Her research always seems to give the desired results. We have critiqued Aldred's work before and suggested she starts with conclusions and then goes to find the research to back them up. https://72b29da2-c608-4b0b-8a31-b846485ead3f.filesusr.com/ugd/10ac5f_3cb7137e78d742bbb20ab42d0efe87bf.pdf

As you know, lots of London boroughs have been seduced by the claims that Waltham Forest is now a paradise on earth due to road closures. When they experience the results themselves, they naturally start to question these aims.

So here is an analysis of some of Aldred's claims by a person from another borough
