Waltham Forest Streets for All Members recently agreed to fundraise to pay a barrister to write a Letter of Revocation requesting Waltham Forest Council to revoke a couple of recent Experimental Traffic Orders (Hilltop and Coppermill)

You can read the letter that was sent here

The Council asked for more than 7 days to respond which we granted.

Our barrister has now received a response. You can read it here

As anticipated they take a number of pages to say they have no intention of revoking or of holding a public inquiry but say in the Conclusion:-

"We should also say for the avoidance of any doubt that there has been no predetermination in relation to what decisions will be taken in respect of the Orders. There is no evidence to support your clients’ allegations in this regard. The objections and information provided by your clients, together with other objections received, information gathered by the Council, analysis of data, and equality impact assessment will be carefully considered at the point at which the Council is ready to consider whether the Orders should be made permanent or should be revoked, or is considering any other alternative options open to it at the relevant time. The Orders will be considered within the overall Experimental period of 18 months. "
