cycling OR walking more like!

The Council is constantly talking about CYCLING AND WALKING. But the two modes are usually in conflict with each other.

We have lobbied against shared space, where pedestrians are inconvenienced and even put in harm's way by having to share space with cyclists

We have lobbied against narrowing pavements to create cycle paths, leaving pedestrians with very little space that is further obstructed by all the street furniture. This is particularly problematic for people with disabilities or people with children.

Now as well as seeing people constantly cycling on the pavements (which is illegal in most situations) we are also seeing bikes parked inconsiderately blocking the way for pedestrians.

Walking has REALLY suffered since the introduction of Mini Holland.
