A Tale of Two Articles

Our local, independent, community newspaper, the Echo, published this article on their front page in November

We naturally disagreed with nearly everything claimed in this Article. As the Echo purports to be a community newspaper we assumed they would be eager to publish the alternative view. Apart from anything else, debate and discussion on issues sells newspapers.

This is the article Waltham Forest Streets for All sent to the Echo. We were quite cross when we wrote it! Knowing that, we sent it as a draft and offered to edit it if Echo so wished. Some emails went back and forth, but the article has not been published nor any alterations suggested. Neither has a letter written by one of our Committee members been printed. So we thought we would publish the article here. Do share!
